The American Breast Cancer Foundation’s Education and Community Advocacy Program is rooted in meaningful, personal relationships with individuals to assist them in gaining access to essential resources, services, and support. The strategic platform provided by these programs serves as a trusted link and referral system to local and regional services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
In addition to addressing basic and medical needs, the program also connects individuals with resources that support recovery, healing, and quality of life following breast cancer surgery. This includes referrals for:
- Prosthesis fitting and post-mastectomy products
- Hair replacement services and wig banks
- Nutritional counseling and wellness support
- Peer-led and professionally facilitated support groups
- Physical and occupational therapy for treatment-related rehabilitation
Individuals can contact our Program Director for a current and reliable list of reputable resources within the breast health network. Referrals are also provided to callers when program funds are limited. These resources include:
- Living Expenses
- Medical Expenses
- Transportation
- Legal Services
- Post-surgical Support and Rehabilitation Resources
